Josie is a 1 year old female Belgian Shepherd Dog. She has had a traumatic life so far, she was picked up as a stray when she was 9 months old.

Josie was very poorly, it turned out she had the parvovirus and was critically ill.

The dog warden managed to get her treatment and she went to a foster home where she made a fantastic recovery then after nobody claimed her, she made her way to us!

Initially, she was stir-crazy and mad as a box of frogs, she needed to fun off her frustration and start learning – She just loves to learn new things and would make a fantastic agility or scent work dog, or anyone that wants to train a dog to do a job, she is so eager to learn!

Josie hasn’t had the training or socialisation she needed so is a blank canvas for her adopters to make into the perfect little lady we know is in there, just disguised by total over-excitement!

Since joining us Josie has already come on in leaps and bounds and has much better manners around other dogs, she is an absolute gift for someone that wants to train a dog to do a job, as she is so eager to learn.

Josie knows to sit and will take a treat gently, she loves a ball and has really good recall, although we have only done this with her in a secure field. She walks well on a lead once she is over the initial excitement and corrects well.

It’s heartbreaking to know she was likely discarded when she needed her humans the most, however, she now has a second chance at life and hopefully will make a fantastic companion for someone that can match her drive and energy. Josie is a lively happy little lady that would love a family to play with her and keep her occupied.

Josie loves a walk and loves to greet everyone she meets, and absolutely everyone that meets her very quickly falls in love!! She would do well with an older similar breed role model, but equally could be the only dog if someone is around a lot.

Josie can live with children aged 15 years plus that are used to young boisterous dogs, she is full of bounce and energy and will mouth and jump up when she is over-excited. Josie loves to run and loves playing with toys and a ball, she also absolutely loves to get messy!

Josie has great recall and is eager to learn and please. She will make a fantastic dog for someone prepared to put in the time and training. She would make a great agility or flyball dog!

Josie is mostly non-destructive but loves to steal things out of the sink if she can get away with it, food is life to this girl! She is house-trained and happy to be left for short periods.

Josie is a gorgeous happy, bouncy active little lady that so desperately needs a forever home and family to grow up with. Josie has been neutered, She is microchipped de fled and wormed.
