Joy is a 3-4 year old male Cross-Breed. He was brought him to the shelter by a man who found him roaming as a stray. A quick trip to the vets showed that he had no microchip, and after two weeks without being claimed he became the responsibility of the shelter, so now he’s ready to find his new home.
He’s not spent years on the streets so we’re sure he once had a home. He’s only 10kg and around the height of a beagle. He has a lovely personality and is hungry for attention from anyone who will give it to him.
He is Joy by name and Joy by nature, he’s forever wiggling his tail and desperate to make new friends with both adults and children. He’s exceptionally affectionate and would love to be the apple of someone’s eye.
We have noticed since having Joy in the shelter that he does have a jealous streak, and he doesn’t like it when another dog gets attention over him. This in mind we’re looking for a home where Joy can be the only dog in the household and have all the spotlight, as it will minimise the eventuality of this behaviour arising.
This likely stems from being overlooked in his previous home or having a lack of socialisation with other dogs from an early age. Joy loves going out for walks and is really well behaved on the lead now too. He’s happiest when he’s being smothered with cuddles and attention, and he truly adores being around humans. He will need a family who are around a lot, or work from home.
He craves the company and we think he’s spent a lot of time on his own previously, which understandably has contributed to him now being more needy than the average dog. He is however, a truly loyal and loving little soul who just wanted to be loved and feel a part of a family unit. He really deserves it. Joy is currently in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. He is ready to travel once he finds his forever home.
