Keko is a 1-2 year old male Ibizan Maneto (Podenco Maneto). We are sure that he is the discharge of a hunter. He was found on the streets with a big deep wound on his neck. We assume that this injury was caused to him by removing the microchip.
During and after the hunting season many dogs like Podencos or Galgos are abandoned, abused and killed and even this chapter repeats every year it’s each time shocking for us to see how cruel humans can be.
Keko was one of these hunting dogs, but with us this chapter came to an end for him. Now it’s time to move forward for him and to get to know the beautiful sides which life also can offer.
Keko is a good boy. He is very social with other dogs (male and females) and also gets along with cats, but he is not keen with smaller animals like rabbits, guinea pigs or birds. Keko is affectionate and looks for cuddles and treats, but is still distrustful. He is currently in foster care in a flat in Northern Spain and behaves very well. He is house trained, walks well on the lead and almost doesn’t bark.
Keko needs a home which doesn’t overwhelm him. He needs time and patient to loose his distrust and come out of himself. Keko is ready to travel to Wales or England (NOT Scotland) as soon as the right home comes forward. If you think that you can offer this little boy the home he is looking for please get in touch with us.
