Khan – 8 year old male Border Collie

Khan is an 8 year old male Border Collie. We do not know how this boy could end up in a pound of Northern Spain. Khan was in terrible conditions when he arrived. He was so skinny that you could see his bones. He was malnourished and he had part of his fur missing.

It was horrible to see him like that. We thought that he may be sick, but after getting him checked and tested for Mediterranean diseases, we found out that this was all ok. We believe that he must have been abandoned and starving over a long period of time, to end up in that state.

Khan is a beautiful Border Collie, with one blue and one black eye. Despite being 8 years-old, he is very energetic. His activity level is medium-high, so we are looking for an active family for him, who enjoys outdoor activities. His new home should preferably also already have experience with his breed or other more demanding breeds, as it’s especially important for his wellbeing to have the right amount of physical as well as mental stimulation. He will need this balance to lead a happy life.

We know that he is social with other dogs as he is currently also sharing a cage with other dogs, but we do not know about know his behavior towards, cats, children or other animals and are not able to test this.

Khan is a lovely and affectionate boy who is hoping to find a home soon and be able to end this yes surrounded by the love and care of his new family in a warm and cosy home. He is ready to travel to England and Wales (NOT Scotland) as soon as the right home comes forward.

We are a voluntary organization which rescues primarily dogs from a public pound in Galicia, in Northern Spain, where the dogs instead of living, are trying to survive. 99% of the dogs are strays or have been abandoned by their owners on the street. The dogs are a variety of breeds and come in all shapes and sizes! We are funded entirely by donations and work hard in our free time to help rescue and rehome as many dogs as possible. With your help we can continue our work and provide food, bedding, medical supplies and care for the dogs until they are well enough to find their forever homes. All dogs rehomed via TeLuMa’s Dream are microchipped, fully vaccinated, wormed, deflead and spayed/neutered if old enough, if not the adoption contract will stipulate that this is done as soon as old enough and this will be checked with your vet. We re-home dogs anywhere in the U.K. This means that you can apply if you have a U.K postal code. Our aim is to pair each dog with the right new owner, ensuring that it will be safe, cared for and loved for the rest of its life. Therefore all potential adopters will be asked to complete a questionnaire. Also a homecheck is carried out and a phone interview prior to adoption. We offer a full rescue back up service to all our adopters and post-adoption support, which includes a Facebook support group and free behavioral advice.
