Kona was very shy, skinny, and had a skin issue so wasn’t looking her best when she first arrived. Fast forward a few weeks and she is now a changed dog. Thanks to come to TLC, good food, and special shampoo.
Kona is now looking beautiful and is ready to find her forever home. She weighs 10kg and measures 60cm to the top of her head.
Kona is a firm favourite at the shelter for the majority of the volunteers. She has the sweetest, most loving personality and doesn’t have a bad bone in her body.
Kona is calm, gentle and patient, and her tail is always wagging when she’s around people. She has learnt that she can trust all of the volunteers and is always delighted to see them when they arrive each morning. She is going to make a fantastic companion for someone.
Kona loves her walks and you can see how much she enjoys being outside by her body language.
Kona has a great time frolicking about in the long grass, sniffing in the dirt and sitting in the sun spots, taking in the warmth. She loves walking with the other shelter dogs and excitedly greets them when outside the cage.
Kona’s been brilliant with every new dog she’s met no matter their size or age and her sweet, submissive temperament means that she’s very easy to introduce to new shelter residents too.
Kona loves a belly rub more than anything and after her walks to avoid going back to her kennel she will distract the volunteers by showering them in kisses and rolling over for a tickle.
Kona loves being away from the pound and it’s always a shame to have to put her back in her kennel after she’s had such a lovely time on her walk but she makes such little fuss and is always obedient.
Kona’s ideal home would be outside of the city, in a slightly more semi-rural location ideally where it’s not too loud or busy for her. She would prefer direct access to her garden and would enjoy a fairly laid-back household.
Kona needs a family who is keen to take her on long walks and let her explore the outside world, but above all, she just wants to be loved. She is so affectionate and loves the company of people more than anything.
Kona can live alongside other dogs, she has no issues with cats as far as we have seen, and she can be homed with children aged 6+.
We think her confidence will regress a little after her journey to a new home, but with some patience, calm, and understanding, it will be no time before she’s emerged from her shell and her family see how delightful she truly is.
Kona is going to be such a loving, loyal, family friend. Kona is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.
