Kope is a 2 year old male Puli Cross. He was found malnourished, full of ticks and fleas, hair overgrown to the point where he could not see or hear, hiding in the back of an inhabited property scared to death.
Following a good groom, several purple bruises were found on his body so he must have been abused too, not only neglected.
Kope now stays in a shelter with several other dogs while looking for a family that will love and appreciate him and make him forget his troubled past.
Kope is a timid boy but he has slowly started coming out of his shell. He is now very affectionate with his rescuers and goes up to them for cuddles.
Sudden noises or movements can still scare him and make him try to escape. He is still a bit wary of strangers and tends to bark at them when they approach.
Kope gets on well with the other doggies at the shelter, he has a typical Puli play i.e. he can be vocal and gives it all to make them join in his play.
Kope is fully house-trained and is non-destructive in the house when left alone but may bark.
He is a lovely boy who deserves the best home after all he’s been through.
Kope would be best suited for a family without children where he is not left alone for long periods and he can spend precious time with his humans.
Kope needs owners who understand the training needs of a rescue dog and will introduce him gradually to his new environment.
Kope could happily live with another friendly, well-balanced dog or could be the only dog in the household.
Like all rescue dogs, he will need time, patience, love and commitment from his adoptive family to become a happy, well-balanced dog.
Experience with rescue dogs preferred. No first-time owners, please. Kope is currently in Hungary and can travel to the UK as soon as the right family is found for him.
Kope comes neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, flea and tick treated, with an EU passport and DEFRA-approved paperwork. Adoption is subject to Home Check and Adoption fee. Full RBU provided.
