Leon is a 5-6 year old male Cross-Breed. Leon is a handsome boy, and part Husky or Shepherd with perhaps a hint of Labrador. He weighs around 27 kg. He is currently living in a rescue shelter in Cyprus.
Leon was found tied to the side of a building on a short lead. He had sores on his skin as he could not easily change position and only had concrete to lie on. At some point in his life a human chopped off his tail. He had no water or food when he was rescued. It was so lucky for him that his rescuer saw him when she did.
Moving on a few months, Leon is now living free of a chain but he is in kennels as he waits for his forever family to find him. He has the most amazing smile and always looks so happy. In fact, he is an incredibly happy boy. Every time he meets you, he offers a paw, first one and then the other. Leon is a gentle, loving boy and has totally forgiven humans for the previous neglect and cruelty that he has suffered.
Leon gets on well with humans of all ages and would be happy in an adult only or a family home.
He is an intelligent boy, happy to learn and with the right kind handling and support we have no doubt he will be a faithful, family pet.
Leon would be happy as an only dog or to share with another friendly dog. He could also share his new home with a cat as he has no interest in cats.
Leon would love his new home to have a safe and secure garden so he can relax free of a lead and perhaps a corner on your sofa to snuggle with you.
Leon required vet treatment when he was rescued and routine blood test revealed that he has Leishmaniasis. This does not affect him in the slightest as it is now under control. He simply needs his medication each day which is supplied by the rescue and this will keep the disease dormant. His Leishmaniasis and any associated costs will always remain the rescue’s responsibility, but we would ask that you take out insurance to cover him for any other events that can arise during a dog’s life.
Prior to his flight to the UK he will receive the vet preparation and vaccinations required, be neutered and microchipped, and have his entry passport prepared. The adoption fee required to cover the flight and courier costs as well as the related preparation costs to get him to you in the UK is £500. We would request £175 of this when he is reserved so that we can get him ready to fly home and then once the flight date is confirmed we would ask for the remaining £325 to cover the cost of the flight and courier.
If you are interested in this handsome boy and giving him a happy life in the UK, then please contact us. It would be lovely if you could tell us a little about your garden, other pets, times Leon may be left alone and ages of any children as well as give your best contact number so that we can contact you.
We will be very happy to chat to you about our adoption process. It really is much easier than you might think. Our charity in the UK is also here to provide full rescue back up.
