Lilly is a gorgeous 7-year-old female Jack Russell Terrier cross Chihuahua girl who is in a foster home in Bovey Tracey, Devon. She needs an adult home with people around most of the time. She is an energetic girl who loves a good run so would make an ideal companion for an active homeworker who would take her for a long walk or run before getting started on work.
Lilly is very playful with most dogs she meets when out, but she can be nervous of large dogs and when in enclosed situations. She would be best as the only dog in her new home, at least until she has fully settled, and then she may be OK to live with a small, calm friend.
Lilly chases cats when outside. She has lived with cats previously but we were told that she wouldn’t leave them in peace so we would prefer to rehome her to a cat-free home. Older children only: Lilly gets anxious when children are active or noisy. So that she is happy and able to relax she needs an adult-only home, or one with calm, sensible teenagers.
Lilly loves countryside walks and is excellent on and off lead. She enjoys chasing squirrels and birds, and sniffing about in the undergrowth. She needs at least an hour’s walk a day and despite her small stature is happy with more. She has been on 10-mile walks and 6-mile runs and loved them! She loves people, walks and cuddles. Lilly is very affectionate and will greet people very enthusiastically. She has a multitude of toys that she likes to play with and she loves playing with other small dogs. She also loves treats and snuggling up under blankets. She can be nervous of sudden noises, large dogs and children. She is likely to be anxious for a few days in her new home.
Lilly needs an experienced ‘doggy’ home, ideally with more than one person in the household. She forms very strong bonds with people and needs firm handling and ongoing training to help her be more confident on her own. An active retired/non-working couple or family with older teenagers where someone is at home most of the day would suit her very well.
Lilly is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and has been wormed and flea treated. Lilly is very healthy; she occasionally has problems with her eyes that are easily treated with an eyewash such as Optrex.
