Lily is a 16 month old Retriever cross English Setter. She spent the first 10 months of her life in rescue with her sister with very little socialisation and as a result was very nervous of everyone and everything when she came into foster. Her confidence has come on in leaps and bounds, but she is still a timid dog that is wary of strangers and will bark at them. Once she gets to know you she is an absolute sweetheart, very loving and affectionate.
She is looking for a quiet rural home with knowledgeable owners and a confident playful dog to help her overcome her worries. An active home is a must, as she loves her walks and is great on the lead. She gets on really well with the other dogs in the home, ignores the chickens and the sheep in the field next door and could probably live with cats with the right introductions.
Her recall to her name needs more work, but she comes back to the whistle. She would not be suitable for a household with small children as loud noises and sudden movements can startle her, so older sensible children only. She is house trained, passported, chipped and vaccinated. Currently in foster in Hertfordshire. Rescue backup is through Settusfree.
