Louie is a 3 year old large male Cross-Breed.

Meet Louie, Louie is a big gentle giant. He is such a clever boy who knows a large range of tricks and is always keen to keep learning. Louie absolutely loves everyone he meets in the home and on walks and will happily greet everyone with a waggy tail and cuddles.

He is a huge softie who loves a belly rub and warms up to new people very quickly. He is a playful boy and will often be around running around with his favourite ball and loves to play chase. Food is his absolute favourite which helps lots with his training, he will do anything for his favourite treats.

Louie can share his home with Dog Savvy Children 10+ with slow and sensible introductions.

Louie needs a dog free home. He can find other dogs very overwhelming and can be protective of his family around them causing reactivity especially if he is taken by surprise. He will need continued work on this in his new home and would prefer a quieter area with minimal dogs.

Louie cannot live with cats due to his high prey drive.

Louie accepts a collar, harness and lead. He is also currently being trained on his halti to give his owners more control. Louie is a very strong boy on the lead and can pull while on walks so he will need a strong owner who can work on this with him. Louie has a very high prey drive on walks towards small animals and livestock which can cause him to be reactive.

His family have been working on this with him and he can now sometimes walk past them with no reaction however due to their area being full with sheep and other livestock it can be hard to manage, he would thrive in a quieter area.

Louie is a very active boy who loves to be out and about on his walks and never seems to get tired, he could continue walking forever. A very active home who can keep up with his energy levels and with a nice garden for him to run around in would be perfect.

He would also love trips to a field where he can run around and let off steam.

He is toilet trained and crate trained although no longer uses his crate. Louie can display guarding behaviours around high value treats such as bones, his family do not currently give him these.

He does not display these behaviours with his dinner. He can be left alone for long periods of time with no issues and has never been destructive. He will sleep well overnight with no issues and will take himself to bed around 10pm.
