Luna is a 2 year old female French Bulldog . She has come into rescue due to a relationship breakdown. Prior to that she has been pushed about from pillar to post quite a bit through no fault of her own. Luna shares her suite here quite happily with another dog; she mingles well with dogs of all genders and sizes outside in the play area and on walks but we do feel she could be quite dominant over attention from people and “her stuff” in the home environment and would be a bit of a bully. Ideally because of this, we would like to place her in a dog free home because she is a strong bull breed but this would not limit her to sociolosojg successfully with other dogs on neuteral territory outside of the home.
Luna is incredibly affectionate and very excited to meet new people. She does jump up to give kisses and she can nip when she gets too excited but there is no malice at all, she just simply can’t contain herself. She needs some general politeness and calmness training, as well as some boundaries installing. She’s very smart and responds to things very well but currently getting her to sit calmly for 2 seconds is an Olympic sport. Puppy/beginner training classes and clicker training would benefit her greatly. Luna gets very excited about having her lead and harness on and does jump up repeatedly to grab at it. This behaviour will need further training to deter her from doing it in the future otherwise it could manifest into causing her to snatch other objects and become unruly.
Luna has the most incredible nature and has so much to offer a family. She would probably not suit an older person due to her activity levels but as she is only a baby this is to be expected. She loves going for walks and would be an ideal walking companion given that she’s so social with people and dogs alike. Over all Luna has no major issues, she’s straightforward, uncomplicated and a real joy to have around, she has been no problem at all here in Rescue and we are keen to find her a family to love on her and kiss her back.
Luna is housebroken -but has lived in kennels so may need retraining upon entering a new home- she is crate trained, non destructive in the home and happy to be left for reasonable durations of time if left with another doggie keep her company. When left on her own for long periods of time it has been noted that she cries.
Luna is good with children and we are happy to accept applications from households with dog savvy children ages 7+ as she was previously lived with a family with younger children.
Luna is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Please send us a message to enquire about our adoption process. We require an APPLICATION and HOMECHECK BEFORE we can arrange for applicants to meet Luna on an APPOINTMENT ONLY basis. Minimum adoption donation applied.
