Meet Luna, a 22 month old Lab Collie cross girl who has come into our care from a home in which she lived with another dog called Rosie. Rosie has also come into our care. Luna’s story is basically a carbon copy of Rosie’s if you’ve already read that and they have spent their life together in the same home. Luna now feels safer with us after getting to know us but unfortunately for her she does still get stressed and anxious around strangers and doesn’t show herself very well.
We do have some history on this young girl but it is still unclear why her temperament changes around strangers, however we do know that with slow and friendly introductions she will be very happy to make a new human friend. Luna is a foody girl which is always a bonus. It’s a real shame that Luna let’s her anxiety get the better of her because as with Rosie when you get to know her she is a lovely dog who just wants to run and play and have fun. She has the basic training and will come back from the end of her extending lead when called.
We would only re home Luna in a dog experienced home with no children, no other dogs or pets and with an owner/s that can make a real difference to Luna’s mind set by giving her the love, reasurance and guidance she needs.
