Lyra – 9 year old female Greyhound

We have a massive soft spot for our little Miss Lyra who is a pint sized crack pot! Lyra is just coming up to 9 years old but again I struggle to believe it. She is actually tiny and not much bigger than a whippet and has the cheekiest, most energetic persona you could wish to meet! Lyra just loves to love and adores people and other dogs equally. This girl is going to quickly become someones heart and soul dog and give them years of pleasure, laughs and happiness. I think we all secretly love her a little bit too much! Out on walks Lyra is an angel, we feel she would be much better rehomed with another dog for company and with another dog around will settle when left quite quickly! You will have to move things though as if its not nailed down she will quickly have it off.

[rehomed]

Lyra would be fine to be rehomed with dog savvy children 6 years and upward but no cats please. Healthwise Lyra is doing really well. She lost most of her teeth as did most of the Macau dogs and had 2 nipples removed at time of spay to be sure as we were not overly happy with what we were seeing and not sure whether it was concrete granulomas or something that could potentially become nasty. Thankfully the results showed all was fine. Even though Lyra is in kennels she works hard to keep her area clean and goes to the toilet at every opportunity given so we think housetraining would be a doddle.

Lyra is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped, spayed and has received a dental. She will be rehomed with one months free insurance from Pet Plan.

If you are interested in offering Lyra a home please in the first instance complete the pre adoption questionnaire.

Greyhound Gap

Greyhound Gap is a small independent charity set up to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome greyhounds and lurchers who find themselves in a ‘put to sleep’ situation in UK pounds. Funded almost entirely by donations, we rehome around 150 dogs each year. We can have around 40-50 dogs at any one time in our kennels based in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent and a further 30-40 in foster homes. Greyhound Gap operates on a national basis so our dogs can be homed throughout the UK subject to a suitable home visit being carried out.

If you are interested in adopting a dog from Greyhound Gap, we would ask that in the first instance you could take a few moments to complete our pre-adoption questionnaire if you have not already done so: http://www.greyhoundgap.org.uk/our-dogs/pre-adoption-questionnaire
