The ‘Mae’ family are all blind to different degrees. Maethong was blind when she arrived, and her eyes were so severely damaged that they had to be removed to relieve her pain.

However, she hasn’t let this hold her back for a second. She is remarkably confident and manages her blindness well with a little guidance and a canine companion by her side (at the shelter, that’s usually Maeploy).

Maethong’s name translates to “golden mother” in Thai. And she is definitely the golden child of the family, a real sweetheart who’s the last to cause trouble!

Will you give her a chance? You don’t need eyes to see that you could be a perfect match!
