Mango is a 11 month old female Cross-Breed. She is medium size and is currently in foster in Gloucestershire. Mango is in foster with Auntie Jo and living with her teenagers and pack of 6 dogs. She has lots of space to run around the garden, and dogs to play with. She loves everyone! Mango is a friendly energetic 11 month old, full of character who is having to be rehomed as her owners have found her difficult to manage. Mango has striking good looks with beautiful coloured coat, and big expressive eyes and amazing ears! She weighs 16.5kg, but needs to put on a bit of weight. She is built like a hound, and we think she has hound in her breed mix. Mango has a lovely, caring and affectionate personality with no element of aggression.
Mango is a clever, trainable dog with a lot of energy who needs a good amount of stimulation and exercise. She needs someone who understands her and is able to set boundaries and read her signals. She needs a dog savvy owner who can clearly show her what is and what is not acceptable behaviour.
We are looking for someone who has plenty of time to work on her training, and she needs to live with another dog – a confident dog/s to show her the ropes and one of a similar size. She has lived with children but due to her bounciness we would only rehome her with children age 13+. Mango is a typical teenager with loads of energy, and needs a good sized garden to run around in.
Mango is wilful on walks (and strong) and Jo is working on her lead training and she has made a lot of improvement. She is going on off lead walks, but her recall is poor, although again improving. She is a very fast runner, and loves running across the fields with the the other dogs. Mango is a work in progress, with a wonderful nature. In a very short time she has made huge progress so we are looking for someone who can continue this with her.
This is her history: Mango was left in the middle of nowhere, next to a busy road, thirsty as it was a hot day in June, with a dead chicken next to her, and no houses for 20km around, The rescuers kennels were full but they couldn’t drive off without her. They estimated her age to be 3 months old. She was failed by humans and yet she was happy to see them.
Mango is not yet neutered, and this needs to be done as part of the adoption contract. She is vaccinated, microchipped and has a passport.
