Manolete – 3-5 year old male Brittany Spaniel

Manolete is a 3.5 year old male Brittany Spaniel currently in foster in Norfolk. Since being in foster he has learnt to play well with his foster sisters and some basic commands. He loves his food and gets very excited at breakfast time. He sleeps well overnight and is housetrained, although on the odd occasion when meeting someone new he can let out a little pee in excitement.

He currently chooses not to toilet in the garden and prefers to do this when out walking. He can be a little nervous of traffic so would definitely prefer a rural home with lots of country walks. He does have a high prey drive and can pull on the lead because of this, therefore a cat free home is needed for the same reason.

When out and about if a male dog growls at him he will growl back, although he is not the instigator and there has been no sign of aggression. Some training in this area would benefit him. He can be a little nervous in the car and his foster home are working with him to make him more comfortable with this.

Manolete is a young dog who hasn’t had much of a chance to play and can still be somewhat boisterous. For this reason we feel a home with children 8 plus is necessary, who are experienced with dogs. He would ideally love the company of a female playful dog in the home.

He loves cuddles from his humans and likes nothing more than to snuggle up on the sofa next to you. He does have some separation anxiety within the home and can whimper when you are in a different room in the house but is absolutely fine overnight.

His foster home say that Manolete will make a fabulous family dog and just needs a little more time, love and understanding (along with some basic training) to help him achieve this. A home where people are around for most of the day would suit this lovely young boy.
