Marley is a 1-2 year old female Cross-Breed. She is medium size (shoulder height: 48 cm, weight: 14 kg) and spayed. She was rescued at 5 month of age after having lived in a cemetery for weeks. She was so scared of people that it took a good hour to capture her. She’s been in rescue for a year now and she’s been living in a foster family for the past 8 months.
Marley is a beautiful girl who can be a bit aloof with strangers and needs some time to open up but becomes friendly once she knows you mean no harm. She is lively and energetic who loves to play and loves fetching her ball for you. She has a Terrierish character and can be stubborn at times so she will need a consistent leader and clever guidance for her to show her best self. She seems to be quite wary of younger children so we will not consider a family with children.
Her foster mum occasionally takes her along to lectures where she stays nicely calm on her mat for up to 1 hour in the presence of other dogs so she can be calm and well behaved when needed. She also loves water and always enjoys a good splash! She is very compatible with dogs and enjoys their company. She is friendly and playful and loves to run around with them. She can be a chaser when she is wound up but can be stopped without a problem if given the right guidance.
She currently lives in a flat with another resident dog who she gets on perfectly well with. She used to live with several dogs and we would like her to have a doggie mate in her new home too. She is toilet trained and is completely clean in the house. She walks nicely on the lead but can pull at times, especially when she gets excited. She has a decent recall and her training will need to be continued in her new home. She travels nicely in the car even for longer rides. She is not coping well with being left alone, howls and barks which is being worked on in her foster home and is a work in progress.
Marley would be best suited for a family without children where there is someone home for most part of the day. She wants to be treated as a member of the family and be included in activities to help create a strong bond with her humans. She would fit best into an active outdoorsy family who are happy to take her with them on their adventures. Her training and socialisation will need to be continued in her new home.
Marley would definitely benefit from and would be happiest living with another friendly and well balanced dog so we are looking for a doggie home for her. Experience with rescue dogs is preferred. No first time owners please.
As all rescue dogs, she will need time, patience, love and commitment from her adopting family to become a well behaved dog.
Marley is currently in Hungary and can travel to the UK as soon as the right family is found for her. She comes fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea and tick treated, with an EU passport and DEFRA approved paperwork.
Adoption is subject to Home Check and Adoption fee.
