Marvel – 1-2 year old male Sheltie Cross

Marvel is a small to medium sized 1-2 year old male Sheltie Cross. He arrived in our care a little over a year ago. He came from the Botosani public shelter in Romania where he had lived most or all of his life. On arrival he was categorically not touchable and it has taken all of these months to teach him that humans are ok!

Marvel is now thriving in his foster home and ready to find himself a forever home. Marvel walks beautifully on a lead and is a pleasure to take out. He’s still cautious of being stroked but will actively ask for a fuss from his foster mum now, which in all honesty we didn’t ever think we’d see.

We are super proud of this brave boy. He is blind in one eye probably due to past trauma. He will need an adult family and a home with at least one other dog. Marvel travels well in a car and will need somebody around for a large part of each day. Marvel fostered Gorleston Norfolk.

Anyone applying to adopt Marvel will need a little patience in the early days and to let him get to know them a bit before expecting too much from him.

Please note it is Safe Rescue policy that all dogs adopted from us must wear a slip lead to be walked for the duration of their lives. Too many dogs are lost from slipping out of collars and harnesses and many of our dogs are timid due to past ill treatment and are likely to panic when out and about. It is absolutely okay to use these things additionally to slip leads, but not instead of.

We also request that extendable retractable leads are never used on our dogs. If you are opposed to slip leads, please do not enquire about our dogs as this is non negotiable. Thank you for understanding. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used.
