Maximus – 8 year old male Lurcher

Maximus (Max) is now ready to find his forever family so please form an orderly queue for this stunning blue brindle Lurcher who is a bundle of cheeky cuddles and fun! Max is approximately 8 years of age and 26″ to the shoulder and what a very lovely lad he is indeed! Max is a cheeky, bouncy, friendly boy who likes to play but can be a little clumsy so could knock a small child over by accident as he doesn’t realise how big he is at times! He makes his foster Mum laugh with his cheeky little antics and will steal anything tasty off the side if it’s within nibbling distance and he thinks you’re not looking! Max acts like a great big baby who really does love to play and would be happy to spend all day having his tummy tickled!

[rehomed]

Max is clean in the home and will ask to go out when he needs the toilet. He is also very good with visitors and will settle down after the initial greeting. Max sleeps through the night and can be left up to 2 hours with no problems. Max does have a habit of lunging towards other dogs through excitement and sheer exuberance and so must be walked in a harness. Our behaviourist can also give advice and ongoing support with this issue and he has made huge improvement already. In the past Max has lived with a Westie but as he is so exuberant in play caution must be taken around little dogs please and a cat free home.

Max seems to enjoy his walks out although he walks really quite slowly. He has been to the vets but they can find nothing wrong with his paws or legs so he is perhaps just a slow walker! He isn’t quite as slow at home though when he is playing with all his toys and pouncing on them! Max would slot happily into most family environments and would like either the company of a friendly, calm medium – large sized dog as company and to help him learn the ropes or as an only dog in the right family with people around the majority of the time. Please be aware that we do not home dogs to families with children under 8 years of age. He can be homed anywhere in the UK provided we have a home checker available, but please note that you will be required to travel to Norfolk to meet and collect him.

Max is currently in a foster home in Norfolk. Max is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed and a home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

Kerry Greyhounds UK

Kerry Greyhounds UK operates through a network of volunteers to rehome greyhounds and lurchers. The majority of our dogs are from Ireland. We are dedicated to finding the very best forever homes and provide ongoing support and encouragement to all of our placement families and hounds.

We neuter, vaccinate and microchip each dog and give them a veterinary check before they are rehomed. We rely on public donations to enable us to carry out our work and refuse, on principle, any financial assistance from the greyhound racing industry.

If you have an adoption enquiry, please either email us at bronwen@kerrygreyhounds.co.uk, or telephone Bronwen on 075 000 62648.
