Mayo is a 13 year old male Griffon Bleu De Gascogne Cross. This gorgeous older fella has a tan and white shaggy wiry coat. He is a medium sized, golden oldy and the poor boy has spent his whole life chained outside a house in Spain, until a volunteer spent almost a year trying to convince his ex-owners to surrender him to a rescue.
Brilliant news for Mayo his owner agreed recently to sign him over, and after a few short weeks, Mayo is already a different dog: he’s gone from a sad looking dog to a happy, full of life boy.
Mayo is in good health despite his age, he’s calm and obviously doesn’t have a high level of energy but does enjoy going for a walk. He just adores cuddles He hasn’t met any cats yet.
Mayo is very affectionate. He just wants to be close to someone and be cuddled. He loves getting on his back to get belly rubs. He walks well on the lead, he is calm and he seems to be sociable with other dogs when he goes for walks, although he’s never shared a house with another dog as there are no more animals at his foster home.
Foster Report: Mayo is still learning about housetraining, and he has made great progress with this since he’s been with us in a few short weeks.
We know it would have been easier for him to follow other dogs leads and watch what they do. We think another nice gentle family dog could help him a lot with his new life, but he’s fine on his own.
He’s very sweet, he is lovely and such a good boy. He would love a family with patience to teach him to be a perfect family dog and spoil him. He still has a lot of love to give!
