Milo is a 1-2 year old male Husky cross Labrador. He is housetrained, and great with adults and children. Not neutered (rescue will contribute toward his neutering costs).

Milo is currently located in the Midlands, available for adoption over the UK (collection from location or sometimes part-way meeting can be agreed upon).

Milo is still young and requires continued training on walking on a lead, and recall (but possibly it is just a regular “husky issue” when they just pretend deaf on walks).

Unfortunately the last months family has had very harsh times due to really heavy health reasons, a few times MILO had to go in kennels, which, unfortunately.

Milo was not the best experience for him and he has now selectively reactive walking on a leash. But this can be corrected and Paw Help Rescue will be happy to provide support.

“It will break our hearts to see Milo go but we have looked at every single avenue to keep him as we all love him dearly, but with things the way they are now won’t change and with a lot more time in hospital… we don’t see us being able to give Milo what he deserves.

Milo has been raised around children aged 1-9 years old since he was 8 weeks old. He has a brilliant loving temperament with children and thoroughly enjoys playing in the garden with them.

Milo does not attempt to jump up the younger children, however, does jump up the 9-year-old child and adults. We have tried to correct this with training but Milo gets very over-excited and has not mastered this command yet.

Milo is happy to be fussed/cuddled and does not have any issues with resource guarding or aggression towards humans. He is fully house-trained and is happy in his crate for a few hours if the crate is opened and covered over with a towel or blanket.

Milo knows basic commands such as sit, and stay and will gently take treats when told ‘nicely’. On walks Milo pulls with quite some force, we have tried to correct this but haven’t found a training method that has worked efficiently for Milo. On passing other dogs sometimes Milo is unfazed but on others, he will be barking and jumping.

We do not let Milo off-lead in public areas as we aren’t fully satisfied he has mastered recall yet. Milo loves toys, treats, long walks and lots of attention. He dislikes being bathed, brushed and long car journeys.

Milo is not cat-tested. I think since his last stay in boarding kennels he is a little less tolerant with another dog at the moment but with the right people Milo would thrive with a playmate.”
