Minx is a two year old Akita type cross. He is one of our very special dogs, its a bittersweet album to write as we adore her, but she’s ready now and she deserves her own happy ever after. She came in to our care about 9 months ago when we were asked to step in by a lady who knew about her difficult start in life. When she arrived in our care she was fearful, didn’t like to be touched and terrified of the lead, she would snap in fear whenever we tried to put it on her. Minx fostered in South Shields.
However in time her love of walks helped her to get over her fear of the lead and she has finally got to the point where she is first in line when the leads come out and stands patiently while getting it on. She walks beautifully when out and passes strangers and other dogs with no issues.
In her foster family we’ve found she gravitates towards the men, she quickly formed a bond with the man but continued to shy away from women for a while longer. However once you have her trust, her sweet, cheeky and funny personality shines out and she enjoys a fuss and cuddles. She adores the company of other dogs so much so that she does need to live with another dog, ideally one that will play with her.
Due to her need to settle in she is not suitable to live with children. She has lived with cats in the past and was fine with them.
Our adoption fee is £270. She is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. If you are interested please message or call between 9am and 6pm.
