Where do we start? Moose is a lovely friendly boy who loves people and dogs.

Moose loves nothing more than some gentle strokes and a cuddle on the sofa with you. Of course, this is after a lovely walk exploring, his nose rules his head and heart!

But he walks beautifully on the lead and is very responsive to commands if the treat is extra tasty.

Moose will need some ongoing training in his new home, his Foster has started the brilliant work of introducing him to UK life and he is loving it!

Moose does get excited to see dogs on walks and lets out a lovely woof to say hi but he Is learning that this isn’t the way we make friends and respond well.

When he is in hound mode his ears go off as his nose goes on so recall will need to be worked on a lot.

Moose does have a high prey drive, natural being houndy he loves to follow his nose and it often leads to squirrels, so NO cats or small furries.

Moose is crate trained and is happy to sleep in there overnight while you pop out. He is also housetrained and very clean. It’s fabulous watching him pick up and throw his toys around, having the best time!

Moose lets you join in and will fetch with you in between he is learning the difference between play toys and objects you leave around.

Moose would happily share his home with a canine friend but could also be homed as an only dog with a great social life.

This boy is going to bring a lot of fun and joy to any home, he is magnificent! With continued training to help him learn and someone to snuggle him, he is going to be truly wonderful.

Helping Dogs and Cats UK Rescue
Helping Dogs and Cats UK Rescue

Helping Dogs & Cats is a non-profit animal rescue (CIC number1420295) based in Basingstoke and operates in Hampshire, Berkshire, Kent, and Surrey. We rescue dogs, cats and other small animals in need of help.

Our journey began in 2018 when our Founder Kirsty Wrightson established the rescue after losing her beloved dog, Millie. Our work includes rehoming and rehabilitation, veterinary care, microchipping, spaying and neutering. All of the animals that come into our care first go into foster homes for assessment.

Adopting a dog or cat or other animal is a big decision and in most instances, a long-term commitment. To help you answer any questions you may have we have created an FAQ guide. https://helpingdogsandcatsuk.org/faqs-1

Our small team is staffed by volunteers, who are true animal lovers and passionate about animal welfare. We receive no government funding and depend entirely on the generosity of our supporters. Every penny we receive goes directly to helping dogs and cats.

We offer full rescue backup for the life of your adopted animal.
