Muskat is a 5 year old female Cross-Breed. She is a small Cross-Breed (though looks very like the critter at the beginning of the Ice age movies carrying the acorn).
Muskat has a typical story of a Romanian stray. Caught by dog catchers and thrown into a public shelter to live cowering in the back of a pen because the environment is so terrifyingly unsafe. They exist like this for months and years and if we hadn’t visited this shelter in March and made sure we photographed each and every dog maybe she would never have been seen at all.
On arrival Muskat was a cringey uptight ball of fear that flinched at every human touch. A few weeks down the line and that flinching has been replaced with approaching complete strangers and asking for a fuss. This is an amazing turnaround and can take far longer in some of our more traumatised dogs. Maybe she once knew a home and kindness and all that was needed was to chip away the fear and tap into those memories? We will never know the truth of her past but we do know her future will be filled with only love and kindness.
Muskat is a calm and sweet dog who walks well on a lead. She is currently living very amicably with cats and is fine with dogs as long as they are not too in her face, she would probably prefer to be an only dog given the choice. Any children in the household would need to be over twelve. Muskat fostered Poringland Norfolk.
All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered (unless the dog is too young to be neutered).
