Nellie is a four year old Greyhound, another petite little lady. She has taken to retirement like a duck to water and loves her comforts, she has been pretty much clean in the house since her arrival. So many good things to say about this little sweetheart, she is a happy little lady, she walks out well and, when she meets new dogs (any kind and every size,) she gets quite excited, she is not at all naughty towards them, the only thing on her mind is play. On walks, Miss Nellie’s bum is up in the air, tail wagging and wanting to play with every dog she has met so far. Nellie has been off lead in large secure areas and comes back once she has done her zoomies and exploring.
Nellie is in foster with a male and a female Whippet. She gets on well with both of them, but it is the younger male that she plays with mainly. She also loves toys, she is never happier than when she is surrounded with a dozen or more toys round her. She has been left for 2 hours and apart from paper shredding (leave your junk mail out for her!!) she has been fine.
Nellie is blind in her right eye, one of her eyes is smaller due to a birth defect. It doesn’t however restrict her in any way or cause her discomfort, we have had her looked at by three vets and the advice is to leave her eye alone, it would be more painful to her to remove the eye and as it isn’t causing her problems, it’s best left as it is. If there were to be any problems with the eye in the future, the charity would cover any costs that wouldn’t be covered by insurance.
Nellie would be fine to live with other dogs and children. Nellie certainly deserves a special home , she is an absolute poppet. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, flead and wormed. She can be homed both locally and nationally dependent on a successful homecheck.
