Nemo is a 6 year old male Husky Cross. He is a beautiful soul, a very special dog. He is still young, but 90% blind, which is most likely the result of contusion/ missile strike trauma.
Nemo was rescued by a British volunteer in Ukraine in the Zaporizhya war area in winter this year in one of the half-ruined villages, where a volunteer team were delivering humanitarian aid.
Nemo got all vaccinations, health checks, and blood tests (including a rabies antibody test).
The volunteer’s family was happy to give Nemo a forever home, but now realise that their very busy and not stable life and job schedule might be not the best match for Nemo.
The Family asked our help to find Nemo the forever loving home he deserves, where he can get enough personal attention and time to interact with humans.
Nemo is a very calm and well-balanced confident dog. He loves all people and enjoys a scratch or a cuddle. Neutered. Standard husky size – medium to large, around 60 cm/ 30 kilos.
Nemo is generally very good with dogs, especially female dogs and most male dogs, but doesn’t like some male dogs, too pushy and reactive. Not tested for cats.
Nemo is almost blind, but still able to orient and doesn’t feel himself or behave as disabled. He quickly learns new places.
Nemo can walk, but we consider it shouldn’t be busy parks or a lot of traffic, as being not able to see the environment and sounds source, NEMO can get stressed by those loud noises.
Same time his walks need to be slow as now he learns the world by sniffing – he should be allowed calm walks with a lot of sniffing.
Nemo travels well in the car and is housetrained. Nemo has no known other health issues and is castrated, vaccinated, and microchipped.
Nemo is a true warrior from Ukraine, rescued from a war zone, blind, but happy and active, Very well-balanced and very friendly with humans. He is a long-time foster and now needs to be moved asap, as fosters go on holiday soon.
