Neo is a stunning black and white Pointer with a very sad story, he was left in the dog pound and he’s very scared. In the pound they don’t treat dogs well, they clean the kennels with them inside, it’s scary for all dogs but especially for a dog with fears. When Charo went to collect him, he hid in his bed and growled in fear and didn’t want to leave. He was very scared and very thin, but he was not at all aggressive, although as they lifted him and checked him over, he just tried to hide in a corner.
The kind shelter where he is now, have been working with him to try to improve his confidence. He is not an aggressive dog, but scared and will run and hide if he can. Little by little he is gaining confidence and becoming more comfortable with people although he is shy, he knows that we are not going to harm him.
He has a callous or sore spot on his chest, the vet says it was caused because he had so little space, he was lying in the same position on the hard floor for so long. When he is castrated they will be able to remove the damaged skin on his chest. He really deserves a loving home where someone can give him the time and space he needs to blossom and grow in confidence. They have already seen some improvement in the shelter and often when the dogs are in a loving home their confidence grows more quickly.
