Ozzie – 4 year old male Bull Mastiff

Ozzie is 4 years old male Bull Mastiff. He is very over weight and the vet thinks he should take off 10kg but the rest of his health check was okay heart all etc, he could do with a good groom and wash up which we are sure will make him feel better. Ozzie joined LBDR today we heard that Ozzie’s owner had been ill for a number of years and Ozzie has not been out for the last 2 years. The volunteers that have been to see him say he is a nice friendly boy with humans we can not comment on other dogs or cats at present. Ozzie restarted his vaccinations today and was flea and worm treated, we hope to get a bit of weight off him by the time he needs his 2nd vaccination so we can arrange his castration.

*Update March 2017*

Ozzie walks lovely on his lead but if wants to go and sniff something you’re going with him strong boy due to his chunky figure but losing weight steadily, happy to go for a walk, dances at the kennel door to get out and away you go, absolutely no issues with us. From day one he enjoys a fuss a cuddle being brushed being showered and a good old towel dry. He’s always in a lovely happy mood met Leia in the paddock.

In leads he was interested and will see how things go with any other dogs I can get my hands on, fine at the vets enjoyed the fuss, likes treats will take gently, will sit eventually when asked, no grumbles from him. He’s like big bear, walks nice off lead, sniffs around and trots up to catch you up, he runs for NO ONE. He’s a plodder not a sprinter and he’s been a bloody star with us humans.
