Penelope – 1 year old female Cross-Breed

Penelope is a 1 year old female Cross-Breed. She was found as a stray and taken to a council pound, but after a local rescuer realised she’d been there for months without any interest she decided to take over Penelope’s care in the hope of improving her chances of being homed.

She’s now in one of the pounds that we support and we’re hoping she will have more luck now. She is only around a year old and she will want to do lots of exploring, playing and running once she’s finally adopted. She spends the majority of her day in her cage at the pound but in reality she is an active girl and needs a stimulating, exciting lifestyle where she can explore the outdoors and burn off lots of energy.

She would really benefit from a home with a garden and lots of surrounding fields and countryside to investigate. She doesn’t need to be on the go all the time, but she’s missed out on all these opportunities for the past few months. She is really sweet with the volunteers and is fairly self assured character.

She loves meeting new people and being fussed over and will melt into a puddle on the floor if you sit with her and give her chin scratches and belly rubs. She loves the affection and will definitely form a trusting and loyal bond with her new family as she’s so sociable. She loves other dogs and has no problems playing with the other pound residents.

Because she’s quite tall her playfulness can sometimes be a bit much for small dogs as she’s a bit gangly and not always completely in control of her legs! She would make a great companion for another goofy dog who likes to play. Penelope hasn’t had much exposure to children so we would suggest homes with kids aged 10+, and she’s not been tested with cats.

She is so ready for her forever home now and we know she’s going to be a wonderful addition when someone gives her the chance. She is currently in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.
