Little Pip the mighty atom as we call her came crashing into our family home as our little foster girl. She is living with 3 dogs, a cat and two older kids. She is great with the other dogs ignores the two older ones and plays with the younger one, the cat is very dog savvy and confident and takes no messing from her but I think if its an unconfident cat she will chase – she has no malice in her but she will see it as a good game.
Pips tends to do everything at 100 miles a hour – she springs in the air and wants to be in the middle of what ever is going on. Just doing something simple like sorting the washing out and Pip will steal a sock and run away with it and the more you chase her the more she enjoys it. She gets right under your feet and loves to bite them is another one of her favorite games. She has a lot of energy and is still a baby and very puppy like – if you want a little dog to sit with you on the sofa and cuddle then unfortunately Pip is not your girl she does not have time for that – she has a lot of love to give but is no coach potato. I should imagine as she matures she will be a bit more chilled but at the moment we are very puppy like, into everything and the off button does not work too well !!!
Right if you are still reading then here come the good bits – out on walks she is fantastic, off the lead as soon as you call her she will come back – house trained 100% good as gold – in the car travels fantastic like a baby she will settle down in the car and funny enough when you carry her she falls asleep too. Lovely with the kids and everyone she knows you get lots of kisses. At night again good as gold settles down and you do not here a peak from her.
Now the sad bits, she is quite wary of new people not for long but will bark and growl she does not mean it and is not brave enough to hurt anyone she is just nervous of new people but only for a short while. Out and about she can be quite jumpy and will look to you for reassurance with her little button eyes that is how you fall in love with this little girl as once she trusts you she looks to you as if to say is this safe. She has just not been socialized properly so not very confident and can flinch too as if she has been hit in the past – she is young enough and has a big enough heart to get over this completely with the right home.
Pip would like a busy home, she is okay being left but would rather be out and about with you, Someone who has the time to teach and show her the world is not a scary place but also someone who has had terriers before as at times especially as her confidence grows you will have to be firm with her otherwise she will run rings around you as she is so bright, very willing to learn, she needs someone with a big heart with lots of love to give as she is a loving girl – mini agility she would be great at as I am sure she has some Kangaroo in her.
