Poppy is a 5-6 month old female Whippet cross Collie being fostered in Gloucestershire in adult home with two other dogs. This lovely young lady came into our care recently when we heard about her plight from our Vets. Brought from an advert of one of the free sites she was delivered to their door! Poppy was very scared when I picked her up, unable to even walk on a lead. Apparently she had not been taken out. We know she was living with 3 other dogs and 4 cats – so we are assuming she could live with cats but will get her tested if the right home comes up that has cats but cannot see this being a problem.
Poppy is very underweight but her foster home is working on this as well as her confidence and in the short time we have had her she has made amazing steps. Everyday she is changing and having the two other dogs around we feel this is helping her. She is now out walking, but obviously still very nervous and new things and loud unexpected noises will make her jump but extremely bright and very food motivated she is proving very easy to train.
Poppy is extremely affectionate and loving little girl and will need an experienced home with another dog or dogs, someone who is patient and kind and not afraid to to put the time and effort into her – her house training is not 100% as yet but getting there.
Poppy will be vaccinated, chipped, fleaed and wormed before she leaves our care – if you feel you could be that special person please email us in the first instance.
