Poppy is a 3 year old female Chihuahua. Tiny Poppy is an intelligent and energetic little girl, full of fun who loves to play. Poppy came to us with several other dogs and she has spent the last couple of months in a foster home, getting some TLC and they have found her to be a typical Chihuahua.
She loves her person and wants to spend every second of every day with them. She is very affectionate and loves to snuggle under your sweater and demands strokes. However, she can get a bit possessive and will grumble at other people if she is sat on her favourite persons lap.
Poppy is easily upset by any loud noises and will hide, she is agile and fast and can get under your feet, so a home with someone unsteady on their feet is not suitable. She is also hard to find when she hides and can often be found behind sofas cushions, so a careful owner is also needed to avoid sitting on her!
This also means she isn’t keen going out – both afraid to go out in the garden, so her new owner will have to be very patient with toileting and be willing to spend time with her in the garden. She is also not keen on walks, so the new owner would need to continue to build her confidence with patience and tiny steps.
Poppy needs a breed-savvy adult only, cat free home with other young small dog(s), ideally Chihuahuas who would like to play too, we feel this may also help with her confidence.
