Porthos is a 10 year old male English Setter. He is an active, very handsome boy with a very striking patch over one eye. He is currently residing in the shelter we work with in North Spain. We would really like him to come to a loving UK home as he has been in shelter for over five months now.
He arrived in the shelter with Julieta and their son, Dartanan due to the death of their hunter owner. The kennel (or chenil) where they had been kept chained up was filthy, they were left in a terrible state and had no proper human interaction.
When Porthus arrived at the shelter he was scared of people at first but he has changed a lot since then. He is starting to realise that he can trust humans and other dogs. He has started to interact with humans and is more affectionate now.
Julieta and Dartanan have found lovely new homes but poor Porthus is still waiting. Since Julieta left he has been sharing a kennel with Lia, another older Setter and they get on really well together.
We are hoping to find Porthus a home with a friendly resident dog who can help Porthus increase his confidence levels.
