Reggie is a 6 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross. Beautiful boy Reggie has sadly come into our care due to his owner’s ill health. He had been waiting for a space at the rescue for a while and we are so glad that we have finally been able to help him. Reggie is the sweetest boy, but he can be sensitive to begin with. He needs kind, gentle introductions but as soon as he establishes that you are not going to hurt him he is so full of love – wagging his whole body and covering you in staffy snogs! We have all fallen in love with Reggie, it is hard not to with his big brown eyes and spotty face, he even smiles at you when he is excited!
So far Reggie is settling into life here at the rescue without any issues, he was previously house trained and non-destructive in his last home. He walks well on the lead and has proven to be friendly towards other dogs but does not like cats. We feel he could live with a compatible dog in his new home, however he still needs to be neutered but we would like to allow him more time to settle first.
Sadly Reggie can become worried in certain situations, he was particularly panic stricken when being examined by our vet. Although he was not aggressive at all and was just terrified! This poor boy does not seem to have had much exposure to being handled but we are sure that with a kind owner this will improve in time.
We are looking for an adult only home for Reggie where he will not be left alone for long periods as he was used to his previous owner always being around. Reggie is just and adorable and super loyal boy who instantly recognises and greets his friends enthusiastically. He will make the most devoted friend.
