Rio – 4 year old male Greyhound

Rio is a 4 year old male Greyhound. Rio is a stunning blue 4 year old Greyhound boy. Please do not panic about the bruising in the photos this is the boy we explained has a subcutaneous bleed after his neutering and it left him bruised poor kid. Its all good and healing now though bless him. Rio is a sweetheart and a little bit of a spook, he is a worried little boy who would love a sofa of his own with a quieter family where he could learn to relax and come out of himself. Rio is currently kenneled with Ava and we have found that having another dog around does make him feel more confident. If Rio were to be rehomed as an only dog it would need to be with a family with time to settle him in and work with us to ensure that once his confidence built he did not develop separation anxiety if to over indulged. He would happily settle we feel with no issues with another dog for company.

Greyhound Gap

Greyhound Gap is a small independent charity set up to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome greyhounds and lurchers who find themselves in a ‘put to sleep’ situation in UK pounds. Funded almost entirely by donations, we rehome around 150 dogs each year. We can have around 40-50 dogs at any one time in our kennels based in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent and a further 30-40 in foster homes. Greyhound Gap operates on a national basis so our dogs can be homed throughout the UK subject to a suitable home visit being carried out.

If you are interested in adopting a dog from Greyhound Gap, we would ask that in the first instance you could take a few moments to complete our pre-adoption questionnaire if you have not already done so: http://www.greyhoundgap.org.uk/our-dogs/pre-adoption-questionnaire
