Rocky – 9 year old male Husky

Rocky is a 9 year old male Husky. He was surrendered after years of being a companion. His family experienced a change of circumstances which meant they were no longer able to care for Rocky, and through no fault of his own he ended up homeless.

He’s gone from the comfort of a loving household, to a small cage in a local dog shelter. After all his years of being a part of a family he’s now understandably confused at the significant change of environment. He has gone for months now without any interest whatsoever.

He gains attention for his beautiful appearance and ice blue eyes, but no one seems interested when they learn that he’s an older dog, and he’s overlooked in favour of puppies instead. Rocky has experience of living in a home and forms trusting relationships with people well, so he would make a great companion given the opportunity. As Rocky is used to being the only dog in the household we would like to maintain this familiarity for him.

He’s not shown poor behaviour around other dogs but he’s not had experience with living alongside them, and we think he would be happier as the king of his new pad. He’s a generally calm, sweet and happy boy who loves his walks, enjoys being fussed over and would love his own garden after the many months of being stuck in a kennel.

Rocky’s ideal home would be in a semi-rural location. He doesn’t have any experience with young children or cats, so we’re looking for a calm household with a fairly laidback atmosphere. He would enjoy long walks with his new family and snuggles on the sofa, but would appreciate some patience as he settles in to begin with.

He’s been through so much change, and he requires understanding and time as he adapts once again. Rocky is currently in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. He is ready to travel once he finds his forever home.
