Rocky – 16 month old male Dachshund Cross

Rocky is a 16 month old male Dachshund Cross (weight: 8 kg, shoulder height: 33 cm). His family sought help in rehoming him along with his brother (Zumba) as their boy developed allergies to dog hair and they did not want to keep the dogs anymore.

The pups had never been outside their garden so they’ve had and still have a lot to learn. Zumba is now getting adopted and we’re concerned that Rocky will badly miss his brother. We would love to find his forever home sooner rather than later.

Rocky currently lives in a foster family with several other dogs, big and small, and a young child. He is quite timid with humans during the first introductions and he needs time to come out of his shell. He loves cuddles once you gained his trust. He is friendly with the other resident dogs and had no problem with dogs on walks either. He travels well in the car and walks nicely on the lead.

Rocky would be best suited for an adult-only home where he is not left alone for long periods of time and there is time for his training and socialization. His adopters will need to be patient and give him time to settle in his new home and get used to the new environment.

He would probably benefit from the company of a friendly and well-balanced dog but he may as well be happy living as the only dog in the household. Experience with rescue dogs is essential. No first-time owners, please.

Like all rescue dogs, he will need time, patience, love and commitment from his adopting family to become a happy and well-balanced dog.

Rocky is currently in Hungary and can travel to the UK as soon as the right family is found for him. He comes neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, flea and tick treated, with an EU passport and DEFRA approved paperwork.

Adoption is subject to Home Check and Adoption fee. Full RBU provided.
