Rolo is not going to be the easiest Greyhound to rehome but is currently residing with us here in the Greyhound Gap kennels house where until the right home comes along he is very much loved. Rolo is a 4 year old male Greyhound and as much as he has that usual dippy, loving, laid back male greyhound persona he is also as keen as mustard! There is no other way to describe it and sadly he reacts very much without thinking. Rolo most definitely needs an experienced and SENSIBLE greyhound home not willing to take any silly risks or be lured into a false sense of security. This boy is so easily settled, loves his cage, is fine to be left and is spotlessly clean in the main. He did have a couple of accidents over night to begin with.
The other issue with Rolo is that he is a high risk during surgery. Sadly at the time of neutering he had one tooth removed and it triggered a bleeding disorder that nearly cost him his life. He had to be rushed straight to Nantwich veterinary hospital where thankfully they quickly administered tranaxemic acid and a course of that controlled it he was so close to needing a transfusion. In the future any home will need to be considerate of this need and although a relatively in expensive drug he WILL need it to be administered a few days before any planned surgeries and any un expected surgeries or accidents that cause bleeds will need quick and efficient veterinary controlling.
Rolo is most definitely NOT cat friendly and we would not be prepared to home him with children pre teens. Any silly daft or squeaky squealy noises could see him make a mistake. All the above said this boy is the most comical and loving lad ever! We feel he could happily co exist with a female greyhound that is quiet and won’t appeal to his ridiculous its moving so I need to run it down brain blips or as an only dog with someone around to settle him in to begin with.
Rolo is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed and is microchipped, neutered and has received a dental.
