Rosie is a beautiful typical 6 year old Greyhound girl. Sadly poor Rosie, was originally Ivy, has had to come back into Greyhound Gap’s care due to severe illness of her owner who was absolute devestated to return her. Her other hound Fred also had to go back to the rescue he originally came from.
She gets on well with other hounds and adores people but is not cat safe or overly small dog friendly and needs walking with a muzzle. However, in safe enclosed areas without other dogs around once settled she does have relatively good recall for a Greyhound.
Rosie is clean in the house and is good to be left with the company of other dogs. She would only be happy as an only dog if someone was around all the time and even short periods of leaving with dog company would be something that would have to be worked on at great length she can become easily stressed in this situation.
Rosie walks well on leash in the main but can be a little reactive when a small dog is walking or running to her, a firm reinforced NO is enough and she is eager to please.
Rosie’s ideal home situation would be with a slightly older Greyhound male who still like to play but is not too full on. We feel that she would be better if placed with another female with a more subservient one and that Rosie and another dominant female could have problems.
All in all Rosie is a very happy go lucky girl, she is very affectionate with people and is good with children and just loves to love. Rosie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flead and wormed.
