Ruby is a charming 3-month-old female, a petite mixed breed currently sheltered in Romania. Ruby, with her tiny frame, has already received DHPPi/RL and KC vaccinations, undergone blood testing, and is microchipped.

Despite her young age, she has been diligent about flea and worm treatments. Found alongside her sister Grace, Ruby’s journey brought her under the compassionate care of rescuer Andreea Berar.

Ruby’s behavioural history in the shelter has been promising, displaying no notable issues. However, the transition from a shelter to a home environment necessitates a unique assessment.

She is not acclimated to the comforts of home living and will need the support, time, and patience of an understanding adopter. Special attention is required for toilet and lead training, making beginner training classes a valuable investment once she has settled.

Exercise, a crucial aspect of a dog’s well-being, is approached with care for Ruby. The recommendation is to allow her a few days to explore her new home and garden before introducing harnesses and leads gradually.

The emphasis is on a gradual progression, starting with leisurely strolls along the street before undertaking a full walk. Ruby’s successful integration into her new surroundings depends on her becoming familiar with the people, sounds, scents, and sensations.

Ruby’s compatibility with other animals is outlined. She hasn’t cohabited with cats in the shelter, and while she currently lives harmoniously with other dogs, a gradual introduction to new canine companions is advised.

The food test has revealed no allergies or intolerances, and her coat, once in a compromised condition, has significantly improved with ongoing treatment. A good coat supplement and regular flea treatment are recommended for her continued well-being.

Prospective adopters are encouraged to provide Ruby with a calm home environment that offers structure and time for her to decompress from the move.

A secure garden, with a minimum 5ft boundary, is also deemed essential for her safety and security. Applicants are required to fill in an application, undergo checks, and, if selected, partake in a mandatory 90-minute adoption chat and home check.

In the pursuit of providing Ruby with the loving home she deserves, Meadow of Hope Dog Rescue UK oversees the adoption process.
