Meet the beautiful Ruby. Ruby is a 6 year old Greyhound girl who recently landed into our care from a stray pound environment. Whoever had Ruby previously to her coming into our care should be totally ashamed of themselves and I hope they never take another dog again.
On arriving Ruby presented like a much older hound although her disposition remained sunny being such a sweetheart I have never seen a dog so riddled with infection in all my life. Ruby was taken asap to the vets where she lost 31 teeth plus a large section of jaw the infection had taken hold so badly. How this girl remained sweet and loving with all this is beyond me.
Now back and fighting fit Ruby is currently in foster care with two other dogs one male and one female rough coated lurcher whom she gets on fine with. Ruby is still though very much your epitomy of cheeky under socialised Greyhound and is NOT cat friendly. She is fine to meet little dogs out on leash whilst she is muzzled but we wouldn’t trust her to live happily with small dogs in a home environment.
Ruby would be able to adapt to living as an only dog if someone was around to settle her in or with other sighthounds. Her absolute perfect home would be with a male Greyhound companion.
Ruby really is a special girl who has been through so much but come through it still showing how loving and trusting she is. Whoever offers this girl her forever home will have a dog in a million. Ruby is vaccinated kennel cough vaccinated de-flead microchipped and spayed plus has received a full dental.
