Rufus – 10 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross

Rufus is a 10 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross. He is in an Oldies Club foster home in Welling, Kent, waiting for someone to offer him a permanent home. Rufus is fine about being left on his own for a few hours when you need to go shopping etc., but he would prefer a home where someone is generally around for most of the day.

Rufus has never lived with other dogs, so he’d probably prefer to be the only dog in his new home, but he’s fine with dogs he meets outside. Rufus isn’t used to living with cats, so although he is fine when he sees a cat, we think he would be best in a cat-free home.

Rufus didn’t like living with a toddler in his previous home. He can be protective of his food and is a vocal boy, so needs a home without children. Rufus loves to be out and about. His recall is great and he loves to be off the lead enjoying a good sniff. He likes to scurry through the bushes and particularly likes his back to be tickled by them!

Rufus is currently having short walks around the block, plus longer walks to the field where he can really enjoy stretching his legs. Having a walk to the field to have fun!

Rufus is absolutely terrified of the vets. He also doesn’t like people who jog so is popped on a lead if there are joggers around. He needs a Staffy-experienced, adult-only home with people who will spend plenty of time with him.

His new people should enjoy walking as much as Rufus does, and take him for good walks where he can run around and have fun. You will need a secure garden for him to enjoy too. You will need to be prepared to be patient with Rufus and respect his space.

Rufus is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has been worm and flea treated. He has been vet-checked and has no current health issues.
