Sam – 3 year old male Greyhound

Sam is a 3 year old male greyhound and WHAT A CHARACTER! We all love him he is so funny. Sam isn’t one to be conned! Sam knows when its walk time, tea time, fun time, time, time, time and knows what you have forgot to do before you do! He has the most wonderous bark that he does with the biggest grin on his face so if you offer Sam a home you can most certainly do away with watches and diaries he will be your new PA! This dog never stops grinning in his kennel and has made his nose a bit sore shoving it through to say hello to everyone and anyone passing he just loves a love. Sam is currently kennelled with another of our female greyhounds and he really is more settled when another dog is around.

[rehomed]

If someone had a female and was looking for the funniest, sweetest most loving character to join their family this is the dog for you. Sam has only recently retired from racing so will need some socialisation around other breeds but he does walk well on the lead and travels well, he is also SO keen to please that housetraining etc should not be an issue. Sam is not cat friendly and we do believe because he is quite possibly one of the nosiest greyhounds alive he will be fine to be rehomed with dog savvy children aged 6 and over who don’t mind having an inquisitive nose poking in everywhere. Sam could possibly live as an only dog IF someone was around all or most of the time especially in the first few months as my worry of being totally alone and quickly is that he may develop separation anxiety and we would like to avoid that at all costs.

Sam is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped and is neutered and has received a dental. Sam will be rehomed also with 1 free months insurance. Sam is currently in Stoke on Trent and any visiting family would need to commit to travel to meet him with any resident dogs.

Greyhound Gap
Greyhound Gap

Greyhound Gap is a small independent charity set up to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome greyhounds and lurchers who find themselves in a ‘put to sleep’ situation in UK pounds. Funded almost entirely by donations, we rehome around 150 dogs each year. We can have around 40-50 dogs at any one time in our kennels based in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent and a further 30-40 in foster homes. Greyhound Gap operates on a national basis so our dogs can be homed throughout the UK subject to a suitable home visit being carried out.

If you are interested in adopting a dog from Greyhound Gap, we would ask that in the first instance you could take a few moments to complete our pre-adoption questionnaire if you have not already done so: http://www.greyhoundgap.org.uk/our-dogs/pre-adoption-questionnaire
