Sam is a 6 month old male crossbreed puppy, currently living in a foster in the UK. Sam and his sister Sophie had a sad start in life, at 8 weeks old they were abandoned at a quarry, They were far too young and vulnerable to go into a shelter and so they were taken into kennels.

Sam has flourished in the kennels, he really is a lovely boy and whilst he can be a bit reserved initially with new people, this shy demeanour quickly transforms into an endearing charm.

He has a sweet temperament and is adorably friendly. He loves his walks and is learning to socialise with other dogs when out walking. His love for toys and food is evident and this is a big advantage for positive reinforcement training.

Sam’s ideal home would be with an active family, with a secure garden that has plenty of room for him to run around and play in. He will need to be homed with a resident dog to build his confidence, he can live with either a male or female, a large or small active dog.

Regular walks and quality time with people are among his favourite activities, highlighting his sociable nature. He will require basic lead work and training when socialising with other dogs when out walking.

Sam is not housetrained and will benefit from gentle encouragement to go outside as he hasn’t had to instinctively signal his need to do so whilst in kennels. While he gets along well with other dogs, his interaction with cats may require careful consideration.

He has met cats at the kennels so he does know what they are. Sam seeks patient and kind owners who can further nurture his confidence in new situations. Ideal for a household with children over 10 years old.

Being a puppy of 6 months, Sam is yet to be neutered. Prospective adopters are requested to commit to this procedure when he reach the appropriate age which your vet will guide you with. Sam can fly to the YK as soon as a forever home is offered.
