Lovely Sandy is a gentle, young lady just out of puppyhood. She has a soft, thick, light fawn coat with a white patch on her neck and is a medium sized girl. She is the most beautiful little girl, who has, through no fault of her own, found herself looking for a new forever family. Sandy was rescued from Iraq late in 2018 and made it to the UK about 4 weeks ago. When Sandy was first found as a pup on the streets, she was in poor condition but with love and care she fought hard and made a full recovery.
Sandy has waited for a long time to get to safety and to a new loving home and she has been so brave but this has left her a bit wary of new situations. She does adapt quickly but she needs a family who will be willing to teach her all about how good life can really be in the UK, a family who will guide her through new situations and show her the finer things that life has to offer.
Sandy is looking for a home with no children under 15, as she is nervous around children. She has met other dogs both bigger and smaller than her and was respectful of them, she has also met cats and was not particularly bothered by them. She has proven very receptive to clicker training and is super intelligent. An experienced home willing to put some training and patience in will be rewarded with a gorgeous young dog.
Her Best Points: Affectionate and is very intelligent. Driven by treats, so easy to train. She would be the perfect dog for an active family, she is very agile so she may do well with a family who maybe do canicross or other kinds of sports.
Foster Report: Loves the home environment and in a short time she settled very well and is clean in the house. Loves to play with the other dogs and we think she will be happy living with a pal.
As with many dogs that come from the streets she may show tendencies towards resource guarding, so it is important that her new family are willing to work through this with her.
Potential adopters must be willing to attend a meet and greet with Betty and all family members plus dogs in the household must attend the meet and greet. She also holds a current FAVN test which would enable you to apply for a pet passport for her. Current location is in a foster home in Solihull, West Midlands. Adoption Fee : £200.
