Once the owner had been found he admitted that she had been this way for about 4 years. She didn’t even live with him, he would go and feed her every 10 days or so according to the local villagers. She had severe anaemia, needing an immediate blood transfusion from one of our large healthy dogs, tickfever and leishmaniasis.
She was put on to fluids and antibiotics for the tickfever but given a poor prognosis by the vets. We were so pleased when Sassi slowly got stronger and stronger and finally pulled through, she really has a fighting spirit.
After everything she has been through is such a sweet and gentle girl. She is good with other dogs and children. Sassi hasn’t had much interest, possibly because she has leish, which will need to be managed on medication for the rest of her life.
We can provide information and support regarding leish if necessary. We really want this girl to have a forever home of her own as she so deserves it. Could that be with you?
