Sherman is a small four year old male Cross-Breed. He is an “interesting character” who has been in our care for several months. He had been in the Botosani public shelter in Romania for a couple of years and spent the whole time cowering in the back of one of the little boxes they have for shelter.
For a few days here he was kind of shy and hid up a lot but then the REAL Sherman emerged and boy was he a different kettle of fish altogether.
Can I start by saying I find this boy completely unique, quirky, independent and blinking hilarious! He’s not a liker of human affection as yet but that’s not to say that will never come in a more one to one environment. He does like to be wherever I am whilst pretending, quite convincingly, that he doesn’t like me at all. He tells me off regularly and also the other dogs, he is the fun police. He likes the other dogs to be around too but will shout at them if they play, not quite joining in but kind of cheering them on from the sidelines.
Sherman enjoys his walks but still doesn’t like having the lead put on and has to be chased around a bit! Once the lead is on he changes from a gobby badass to a demure pussy cat and you can stroke him, groom him etc with no problem at all. Sherman is the little guy at the night club that gives it all the macho noise but then hides in the loos if anything kicks off.
I mean I don’t know how much more I can really say, this little bloke is not for everyone. He’s not really interested in winning friends and influencing people he’s just his true little self and he needs someone that admires that about him. He’s not aggressive, he’s not affectionate but he is a fab character whose not afraid to have an opinion, on everything. If quirky is your thing please get in touch! Sherman fostered Norwich Norfolk.
