Meet the lovely Shrimp. He is a 7 year old Whippet cross Labrador and has been in our care for some time now living in a foster home with five other dogs. The reason he has been in our care a while is basically because he has a heart murmur and a skin allergy. We feel it only fair that we had fully assessed Shrimp’s health over time before putting him up for adoption, so we have. Shrimp’s heart murmur and skin issue has been checked by vets and we are at a point where we are very clear on his conditions and how to manage them effectively.
At this point we need to mention there will be an ongoing medication cost but luckily it is very minimal as he only needs piriton tablets when his skin flares up and currently no medication for his heart murmur because he was born with it and it is not having any detrementle effects. Back Shrimp himself, he’s a lovely friendly boy who gets on great with other dogs and would need to live with at least one other friendly dog and not be left too long. He loves going out for long walks and is fine off the lead but he has got some whippet prey drive in him so off lead would have to be in suitable areas or you could lose him for a while. He’s a great character and really loves the comforts in life and he makes a lovely family pet.
