Shukuram (means thank you in Arabic, name given to him by his rescuers) is a male English Setter, aged one, unwanted by his hunter owner and left in a pound. The photo with the code is from the pound. He was in a run with other dogs and since he’s so sweet natured he was letting them eat his food so he was very skinny when a local rescue took him out. He’s now in a lovely foster home and has settled in very well. He’s timid still and very quiet for now, he loves other dogs, wags his tail when he sees them and got on well with the other 5 male dogs he was in a run with in the pound.
He’s affectionate with people once he’s got used to them. He doesn’t seem to have much of a prey drive currently but that could well change. They’re working on his recall in his foster home.
He barks a little when they go out (he’s an only dog in his foster home) but they’re working on that too, leaving him a little longer each time. At the moment he walks well on the lead, stays by their sides. He gets spooked by loud, unexpected noises. They think his previous owner must have thumped him poor thing.
Adoption costs per dog are £395 which include microchip, passport, vaccinations, parasite treatment, tests for Southern European diseases, neutering and transport to the UK.
