Solo – 5 year old male Lurcher

Solo is a 5 year old Lurcher (3/4 Saluki and 1/4 Greyhound). He is a beautiful, loving, gentle and very sensitive boy who recently came into our care when the working home he was in could no longer keep him.

Solo is currently in foster care with 3 male lurchers a female greyhound and a female border collie all of whom he gets on really well with. Solo is lovely with all other dogs both big and small however he is not cat friendly and is very keen for small furries.

Solo is fine to be left but would need the company of another dog. If left totally on his own there is a chance as this boy does love to be with both dogs and people that he could develop problems. With the other dogs he is settled relaxed and happy and his dog skills and manners are fabulous.

Solo walks like a dream on the lead and travels well. Although keen if he does see small furries he does not lunge off the lead and is not vocal he is very much the silent stalker so very easy to manage and to walk the other way.

Solo is also good with children and would do just fine with older steadier children 7+ but as he is such a sensitive soul we feel an environment with very young and busy children and alot of noise would make him slightly nervous.

Solo is an absolutely fantastic dog and everyone who meets him has totally fallen under his spell, from the kennel volunteers, to his kennel walker Jo and now to his foster Mum Alisa. There is just something very special about this boy that you can’t help but fall head over heels in love.

Solo is located in Surrey

Solo is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped and neutered.

Greyhound Gap
Greyhound Gap

Greyhound Gap is a small independent charity set up to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome greyhounds and lurchers who find themselves in a ‘put to sleep’ situation in UK pounds. Funded almost entirely by donations, we rehome around 150 dogs each year. We can have around 40-50 dogs at any one time in our kennels based in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent and a further 30-40 in foster homes. Greyhound Gap operates on a national basis so our dogs can be homed throughout the UK subject to a suitable home visit being carried out.

If you are interested in adopting a dog from Greyhound Gap, we would ask that in the first instance you could take a few moments to complete our pre-adoption questionnaire if you have not already done so: http://www.greyhoundgap.org.uk/our-dogs/pre-adoption-questionnaire
